Pretty Amazing!

I saw this picture and it gave me chills. For those of you who weren't aware of this, the tabernacle in Provo caught on fire on friday (December 17th). It has been devastating to the building. But this picture was recovered from the fire. It really puts things in perspective for me. There are small miracles all around us-even in the ashes.

This One's For You Melissa!

SO I'm in trouble with Miss Meliss. She says I need to update my blog more often. I just feel like I have nothing interesting to share most of the time. Work, school, homework, work, school, homework, primary program (yikes!), oh, did I say homework?? Life's good..just busy and a little boring at the same time. Ahah! Thought of something to share. I went to blackfoot to my aunts ward and made some AWESOME pictures with my aunt terry, sis, mom, and cousin lori. So much fun to get out of town (if blackfoot counts) and do something fun! Here's some pictures, cant wait to get them up on my bear naked walls!

Ok, Im a loser, I cant figure out how to rotate these, so you'll have to rotate your head :).
The lighting is horrible, but you get the idea.

On a random note, here is my darling husband. Isn't he so handsome. :) Gotta love halloween.

One Amazing Family

Families Are Forever

To everybody who knows the Hansen family, you will agree that they are all simply amazing. There is not one of them you can be around without simply smiling. Taigen- the cutest dang thing you ever saw. So full of energy and always seems to have a smile on her face. Jace- a very impressive young man. Very few guys his age are as thoughtful and as down to earth as he is. Kyrsten- the best friend a girl - or anybody- could ask for. It is impossible to be around her and stay in a bad mood. She always knows just the right thing to say. I have always looked up to that girl since the day we met in sunbeams! Taryn- she is a smartie!! She seems to know so much about so much. She has also been a great friend, and comes with a lot of good times and laughs! Joni- Oh where can you even start with Joni... We always thought of her as wonder-woman growing up. That woman is the strongest woman you will ever meet in your life. She takes care of anybody and every body no matter how much she could use somebody taking care of her! I have always thought of her as my second mom. Scott- What an amazing man. It would not be uncommon to hear Scott, funny, stubborn, best coach, favorite teacher, awesome father, amazing neighbor, and very selfless person all in the same sentence when somebody is talking about him. He could also be considered my second dad. He put up with so much while we were growing up. I don't know if I will every fully understand where the nickname Rumpelstiltskin came from, but it always made me laugh. We love you Scott! Your legacy will go on forever.

Yeah,.. Thats my Brother!

So Carson is in a band with some of his friends "Aserious Note", and they are pretty dang good. I love listening to them! Last weekend they had a concert here in Pocatello. Carson played and sung one of his "Carson Originals." I was so proud :) I got a video, unfortunately the sound quality is terrible on my camera, but you can get the idea.

4th of July 2009

What a fun holiday! We spent the afternoon of the 4th having a picnic with my family at a park. It was lots of fun. We had food, family and the annual water balloon volleyball/water fight. Afterwords we went to my parents house and hung out while the men blew stuff up. :) We even stopped the icecream truck for a treat!! Who knew that thing was still around? Actually i think it was a new one. Then out of no where... an insane storm hit us. Words (and pictures) cant describe this storm, i had never seen anything like it. There was so much hail that it looked like Christmas in July! Later we wrapped up in blankets and rounded up some sweats and watched fireworks.

What the hail??

And here are a Couple videos of the storm...

Family Reunion

A couple weeks ago Joni Hansen's kids threw her a surprise retirement party. She just finished her last year of teaching preschool. She was even my preschool teacher way back when. It was sooo much fun to see her family and have a couple pictures with all of us kids. Joni is an amazing teacher and an all around amazing person. Our families have been very close over the years. All of us kids have spent a lot of good and not so good times together. I have always considered Joni to be my second mom. She was always there to take care of our family when ever she was needed. When my dad was in the hospital, my sister was in the hospital, or my parents just needed a vacation, Joni was always there to take care of us. And she always made it so fun! I remember one time where in addition to having us three kids and her own kids, she also had several of her nieces and nephews staying with her family. What a zoo! But it is truly one of my greatest memories. Thanks Joni. We love you so much!!

Just poppin in to say HELLO!!!!

Just thought i would write something to let everybody know we're still kickin. I know its been a while. I'm now on summer vacation, and although I am still working i've been very relaxed and stress free. I was telling Cami the other day that I feel like i'm on drugs. But im not. I PRomise... :) So things have been going pretty good... up until this week. Andy's dad has been in a rough fight with cancer the last couple of years. He's been quite the fighter. We are all very proud of him. Lately the fight has got the best of him, however. So we have been pretty stressed and worried the last few days. He's a good guy and It is hard to see him so sick. We are sure trying to stay positive and keeping him in our prayers. It is such a comfort to know we have a caring heavenly father who watches over us and has a plan for each of us.

Two Years Ago Today

Two years ago today was a very great day in my life. I married my wonderful husband for time and all eternity in the Idaho Falls Temple. Since this was bound to be mushy I might as well take the chance to tell Andy how much I love and appreciate him. He is my best friend and I am so thankful to have him in my life. Andy, I love you very very much! Ok, I'm done. (Sorry, I couldn't help myself). And now the flashback...

The New Do

So I don't know what came over me, but I chopped off all my hair!!! Ok.... so I didn't chop it all off, but it's shorter now then it has ever been. It's been 2 weeks since I cut it, but I miss it. :( Oh well, change can be good sometimes- and that's why I did it. I just needed a change. All of you who know me, however, know that I am a "pony-tail" type of girl, so its been rough. It is just about impossible to get it up- Which forces me to actually do my hair in the morning. What a pain! So I want every body's honest opinion-What you think? Here is what I have heard so far:

"You Look Older"
"You Look Younger"
"You Look Like A Business Woman"
"You Look Like You Are 12!"
"I Didn't Recognize You!"

And My Personal Favorite......
"Aunt Crista, You Look Funny!"
HaHa gotta love the honesty of a child.

Party X 2

Super bowl weekend fell a day before my birthday this year, so we had a combined birthday/super bowl party. It was a blast. The women folk didn't watch a whole lot of the game to tell you the honest truth. After I did my math homework (YUCK!) me, Cami, and my Mom sat around the computer and looked at every body's fun blogs. This has become quite a hobby of ours. I am a pretty pathetic poster, but I love to look at everybody elses. By the fourth quarter of the game, we finally joined the boys downstairs and forced them to sing happy birthday to me during the commercials (even though they are the best part, I know, I know). They stopped whining when we served them the cake (no big surprise there). It was great to be with my family to celebrate my birthday! I love you guys!

There were good plays...

Fumbles...

and blogging. :)

Then we had our seconed party!

Happy birthday to me!

The New Addition

Andy surprised me with a baby tortoise for Christmas!! We are guessing he is only a few months old so he is super tiny.... but not for long!! Gizzmo is an African Sulcata Tortoise and according to what we have read he will get big. Veeeery big. So hopefully our house search goes well, because in a few years Gizzmo will be an outside tortoise. Here is a couple pictures of what Gizzmo looks like right now.

Fluffy and Gizzmo

video
And just to see how big Gizzmo can get.......
Here is a picture of a 240 pound African Sulcata Tortoise. I'm not sure how old it is, but supposedly they can live up to 70 years old. Apparently owning a tortoise is a long term commitment. I guess our grand kids can have it when we die. :)

Meet the Fluffinator

Andy and I live in an apartment right now, so the pets we are allowed to have are pretty limited. Two years ago we decided to get a turtle. She is an ornate box turtle and her name is Fluffy. She was pretty sick when we got her. We spent a lot of time and money at the vet to get her back to normal. But, I am glad we did because she is lots of fun. She is unique because she is missing one of her back feet, so she kind of clunks when she walks on the tile. Andy thinks we should have named her tripod. ha ha. She is pretty shy, but we managed to get some pictures of her....
